How you can join a community depends on the settings. A community can be public, it can be public for viewing but you'll need to apply for membership before you can post, or a community can be fully private.
Public communities:
If a community is public, joining is as simple as making a post, this will automatically make you a member of the community.
If the community has rules, make sure to read them.
If there is an introduction section, it's a good idea to make your first post in that section.

Only approved members can post.
This means that you can view and read the forums, but if you wish to participate, you will need to apply for membership.
To apply, simply click the "new topic" icon and the application page will appear.
Type something in the application box (e.g. introduce yourself, maybe mention why you'd like to join), and send the application.

Private communities.
When clicking a link to a private community without being signed in, you will be directed to the login page.
After you log in, you will see the application page.
Type something in the application box and send your message.

What to do if you've applied for membership and you never hear back?
Some admins might wait a while to review the applications. This is usually to prevent spammers from coming in.
If you've been waiting a long time and you still have not been approved, feel free to submit a ticket by clicking the red "Open a Help Ticket" button at the top of this forum here.
We can take a look at the community and see if the admins are active. We can also send a message to the admins on your behalf.
