I took it over from the original owner about 7 years ago. A past admin messaged me back then and said the reason I found the place abandoned (when my cat went missing and I ran across it) was burn out on the owners and admins parts. After 4 years, I *got* that. It's been three years since I've been active there and the guilt is overwhelming. I do visit it every 5 or so weeks to make sure it's not riddled with spam, and delete those and ban the offenders. But that's about it.
It's not a super busy forum, but when there's active admins (and when I was active as the owner) it was busy enough to be challenging, but definitely manageable. Overall, it was one of the more rewarding experiences in my entire online life.
The forum was created by the woman who put together this .org site for tips and hints on how to find your missing cat.
http://www.catsinthebag.org/ I can't remember her name to save my life right now though...but her email is at the bottom of this link and when ezboard moved to Yuku I wrote and asked her to update the link on the .org site. Which she did a week or so after I sent the email. So, she's out there still.
The forum was an offshoot of the above link, and the graphics match. I kept the forum 'skin' on purpose so people could relate to the .org site if they ran across that first.
Here's a link to the forum:
If you're interested, lets talk and get Yuku involved on transferring ownership.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this.
